Poul Skytte Christoffersen has an extensive experience in international affairs having held a number of high level positions both at EU level and national level. He was Special Advisor to High Representative Ashton and he also served as Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Denmark to the European Union in Brussels and as Ambassador to the Royal Danish Embassy in Rome. At the Commission he was also member of a Commissioner’s team as Head of Cabinet to Commissioner Fischer Boel. He writes here in a personal capacity.
On 25 March twenty-seven Heads of State or Government will meet in Rome to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Treaty of Rome. They will sign a Rome declaration setting out a path for the European Union over the coming years.
